The A-Team

Hello, and happy Humpday to all! It's about a month into school and I'm starting to get into the swing of things, so I have decided to publish new blog posts every Wednesday. I want to get better at being consistent, so expect me every Wednesday! YAY!

If you get this reference, I love you.
Okay, today's post is all about your team- who should be in your team as well as who should not be in your team, both socially and at the workplace. Who you surround yourself with has a direct impact on your success. People who support you and encourage you when you have an off day are going to be your lifesavers! However, people who are negative and surround you with bad energy are going to hinder you, decrease your motivation, and make you less confident with what you are doing.
Your work team will be the ones who have your back. Each person will bring their own talents and al of you will collaborate to come up with the best plans for your clients. Your work team should include:

The Leader of the Pack
This person is bold, fearless. They are the leader for a reason- they know how to take charge, designate tasks, and sometimes aren't afraid to be the bad guy if it means getting results. They oversee everyone and make sure everything is going smoothly.
The Webmaster/Technology Pro
These days, you neeeed one of these! It's someone who knows social media, knows websites, knows modern technology. They should be the ones keeping up with the latest trends and what's going on in cyberspace. Who is talking about your brand and why.
The Organization
This lovely person is the one who keeps everything on file- hard-copies! They will keep everyone's assignments written down, organize the to-do lists, and basically keep everyone sane.
The Visionary
This person is fun, but can be the wild-card! I like to think of the visionary as a Don Draper type- brilliant, yet erratic. These people usually work on their own terms and have their own methods, but come up with creative, original work. These are the people who will have that initial great idea, and will think of interesting ways to execute it.
The Go-Getter
This one is the ball-buster. The one who simply does not take no for an answer. Whether it is reserving the space for an event, getting a sponsor- this person will find a way to do it.

The good news is that with a team like this, there is no way you can't handle what comes your way. The fun news is....as PR practitioners I have learned that you have to be all of the above! You do not have to be perfect at each position, seeing as everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. However, you should be strong enough in each area just in case something comes up and you are handling a project with a smaller team. So tell me, which type of person are you? Who do you identify most with?
