Hello, all! I hope everyone is having a fab start to their 2013, and haven't broken all of your resolutions already. ;) It's easy to make resolutions and have all of these amazing plans for the next year, but I find the execution of these goals is the hard part. I'm guilty of this as well, but I've come up with these tips to keep myself motivated!
- Get organized, for real this time. Whatever works for you- whether it is creating online/physical files to separate your different projects, color-coding, calendars...or all of the above! Keeping all of your affairs in order (literally, in order) will help you plan and tackle each one with the TLC each needs, I promise.
-Keep physical reminders. This could be a quote that keeps you pumped, a tack-board of your favorite magazine clippings, a physical list of your resolutions- whatever you need to look at to keep that New Year buzz going. I find that something physical works best, but if you can keep your energy up with a wallpaper on your computer, then go you!
-Make a playlist of songs that wake up your soul. Dance songs are always awesome (I'm listening to Ke$ha as we speak, sorry not sorry) but also throw in some songs that bring back a certain memory. Did you meet someone awesome while "Some Nights" was playing? (Probably. The award for "Most Overplayed Song of 2012" goes too....) Remember that life-changing concert you went to with your best friends? (Fall Out Boy, swoon.) Throwing in songs that remind you of a great time not only gets you nostalgic in the best way, but gets you excited for the memory-filled songs of the future!
-Look the part. This little nugget of wisdom will be in every advice article I post, I guarantee it. I strongly believe getting yourself physically ready for whatever you want to achieve puts you in that mindset. What you wear isn't the only thing that matters, but it is a great starting off point. Try it and tell me otherwise.
-Do it, dammit. Have an idea? Do what you need to in order to get it off the ground. Want to change something about yourself? Start right now. If you've read any of my previous posts (especially this one here! ) you'll know that I am a major advocate of reinvention, anyone, anywhere, anytime. Make this year the one that you actually became who you've always wanted to be.
Are you going to try any of these tips? Do you have any of your own? Tell me all about them!
This is your year (really this time) - leave your mark.
xxx
